1. “The Beauty Of Your Honesty”

    Your words flow

    Like poetry

    Softly, gently

    Soaring

    Unobscured

    By clouds

    Your truth

    And honesty

    Warm me up

    Inside

    The way sunshine

    Sets me free

    On a beautiful day

  2. “The Moment That You Decide”

From one minute to the next…

Lightning strikes, where we least expect

It is with this type of precision…

We can change our lives with one decision

    You really need to know…

Understanding where it is, you intend to go

    The fire inside your heart…

Will spark the answers about where to start

Like an arrow stays the course…

    Calculating carefully, before applying force

    Moments hold such great power…

In time, a seed turns into an incredible flower

Will it be a journey or a ride…

Everything changes, the moment that you decide

  3. “I”

    I

    Live for my dreams

Watching their mystery unfold is even greater than it seems

    I

    Long to explore

Knowing there are always new worlds behind every unopened door

    I

    Love with all my heart

Seeing the beauty of every living person, paint the world with their art

    I

    Like possibility

Finding joy in each new day of living and hoping for what may still be

    I

    Learn how to fly

Falling never scares me, so there really is no reason for me not to try

    I

    Let my tears fall

Understanding life brings both pain and beauty, if we are to have it all

    I

    Look all around

Discovering that after all the years and tears and laughter, it is me, I’ve found

  4. “Heartfelt”

    Deep down inside

I have feelings that run ten thousand miles wide

    Feelings so strong

Lyrics from my heart form into a beautiful song

    I must express

The way you touch me brings such happiness

    For all I know

Its you, moon beams and rainbows that set me aglow

  5. “Upon A Canvas Of White”

    I write

Upon a blank canvas of white

    I see

    An endless sea of possibility

    I sing

    When no one is listening

    I dance

Every time I get the chance

    I hope

Clinging to the end of the rope

    I pray

In my own private kind of way

    I look

Beyond the cover of every book

    I find

    Excitement in every different kind

    I fly

Higher, the more that I try

    I leap

Into moments that, forever, I will keep

    I live

Understanding how to receive and to give

    I learn

With great hunger, I do yearn

  6. “What Do I See(Staring Back At Me)”

    I look into a fountain

    What do I see

    The reflection of a mountain

    Staring back at me

    I gaze into the mirror

    What do I see

    The image is getting clearer

    Staring back at me

    I look out the window

    What do I see

    The colors of a  rainbow

    Staring back at me

I gaze up at the moon

    What do I see

    A beaming yellow balloon

    Staring back at me

    I look at myself

    What do I see

    A book upon the shelf

    Staring back at me

I gaze up at the sun

    What do I see

    My one, my only one

    Staring back at me

  7. “Opening Doors”

For far too long I remained standing in the room

The walls seem to keep me from all that I knew I could do

It was my intention to exit very soon

I had a great escape plan, but was the last one who knew

    <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <>

The greatest dance steps waltz dancers across many floors

I am ready to learn new ways, oh, won’t you teach me yours

And with the keys in my pocket, I will be opening many new doors

    <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <>

There will be no more hiding inside those four walls

But I will be there, roaming around the halls

And I will answer my promise, when It calls

And I plan on shining, long after darkness falls

  8. “When I Look Into Your Eyes”

When I look into your eyes

I get lost a thousand times

I never wonder if it is wise

To get lost in your eyes

When I look into your eyes

    I get feelings so sublime

I am always taken by surprise

By the wonder in your eyes

When I look into your eyes

My breath stops and then it sighs

The greatest feelings of love applies

From the beauty in your eyes

When I look into your eyes

It is like flying in the bluest skies

    Then suddenly time flies

That is the power of your eyes

When I look into your eyes

I am captured by the way they mesmerize

There is no mountain I would not climb

Just to spend forever in your eyes

When I look into your eyes…

  9. “The Social Media Poet”

(Title poem to my forthcoming book of poetry, The Social Media Poet, poems, posts, and prose of encouragement)

He is standing at the crossroads

He is divided down the middle

He’s got mad rhythm to throw a riddle

He is living in two worlds

He’s post modern and always moving forward fast

While he has one foot planted firmly in the past

Though his beliefs are quite progressive

Still his behavior can be regressive

He has passion for his writing

    He paints images so exciting

He knows he’s got a gift with words

He is searching for a hero

And feels like he’s starting at ground zero

Cause sometimes he just can’t find his way

He comes baring gifts from yesterday

He knows constant change is here to stay

He has so much that he wants to say

He has no plans to go away

He’s social and he loves to play

He’s going to bring it everyday

His poems can lift or paint in gray

Though you may not even know it

You just fell under the spell… of the modern day poet

  10. “People First”

People First (inspired by the people of the world)

On the road of life, nothing touches our lives more than people.  Not money, fortune nor fame.  We are a family, like a giant tree.  We are born into a given family yet find our chosen family along our journey of life.  Some of our most beloved and precious relationships will fall into both of our families.

People will touch our lives in  ways we have never expected, sharing both the beauty of their wonderment and the depths of their darkest hours.  The smallest of exchanges can lead to a life time of memories.  The kindest deed can alter the course of our path.  The tiniest act can leave an amazing affect.  For we may all want different things, but our basic needs, as humans, are so very similar.  To be loved.  To be touched in special ways.  To be recognized.  To belong.   To make a difference.  To share moments.

Our paths will be colored by the many many characters and players who come in and out of our lives.  Some people will be there from the very start.  Others will occupy nothing more than a brief stay.  Some will leave far too soon.  Our philosophies, ideas, beliefs, desires, fears, and dreams will be built around the fortress of this collection of relationships.  The people who impact us the most will remain in our collective consciousness.  Although we will forget about many people, we may continue to carry a piece of them forward throughout our journey.

No life experience will touch us more than people.  Not any place or thing can begin to rival the influence people have on us.  The specialness each person offers can never be duplicated.  We are each our own unique symphony, playing our own song.

We are all the sum of our life’s experiences.  A giant patchwork quilt made up of all the people who have touched us in a multitude of ways.  I call it the inspiration quilt.  It is the fabric our our lives!

My life has called me to honor people, working on their behalf.

    Sharing peoples stories…telling their tales.

Above all things I…..in all my work…

I choose to recognize people first!
