1. Do Something About It

Down on your luck?  In need of a new job? Is your life stuck in a rut?  There are so many times in our lives that we caught up in the situation.  Recognizing that we are in a rut is only the first step.  Many of us get stuck there.  It is only by taking action that we begin to create movement.  The movement necessary to create change.

The same talents we own are always available to us.  For they know no expiration date.  We tend to compartmentalize our talents and skills,  reserving them for the job or using them for a paycheck.  Big mistake!

Time to move out of your comfort zone.  Market your skills and talents by volunteering them to organizations.  Share yourself generously throughout your community.  At events.  Lend your talents to an upcoming conference.   Showcase who you are anywhere and everywhere you can.

Extend yourself as far as possible out into the world.  Follow your heart, allowing it to lead you into areas of interest.  Look around at the world.  What is going on…

Focus your energy on where you want to be.  Imagine the life you want to be living.  Picture the job or career you see fulfilling your purpose.   Reach towards the people who inspire you through their life’s work.

Aspire to greatness.  Train yourself the way an Olympic athlete trains.  Everyday putting in the quality time required.

We all have the same number of minutes, seconds, and hours in any given day!

    Now is the time to….

    Do something about it!!

  2. I See It

The beauty of your smile when you feel joy.

The way your body moves through open spaces.

The inviting tone of your voice whispering Hello.

The simplicity of your loving ways.

The abundant care you have for others.

    The expressions of gratitude.

The potential of your brilliant mind.

The movement of your spirit in flight.

The passion burning in your soul.

The unlimited love in your heart.

    The gift that is you.

    I see it!

  3. “The Things That Touch Us In Immeasurable Ways”

In a world driven by data, where technology seemingly trumps all topics, I’ve been feeling the call of the simple things that touch our lives.  The immeasurable things that touch our body, mind and soul.

The feeling we get when someone just says,” Hi, how are you today?”  with that sparkle in their eyes and a genuine smile upon their face.  When that person stops and pauses to actually listen to our answer(without looking at their cell phone), it’s a delight.

The rush of emotions in motion when I hug my mom tightly.  It fills me with an unexplainable joy and sadness at the same time. Joy that I can feel such warmth and connectedness to her through such a simple gesture.  Sadness for the loss of my dad, and left wondering when the last time my mom has felt the loving touch of a kiss, a hug, or the warmth of a hand.

I love the way great music can make our spirits take flight, transporting us right out of our bodies.  It lifts the emotions.  The intoxicating rhythm of the instruments.  The soaring sounds of a soulful singer.  It can set our heart and imagination on fire.  Spirits fly on…..

We touch each others lives in so many immeasurable ways.  It is such  a blessing to recognize the “little” things that happen.  The holding hands.  The inspiration we feel after a great speech.  The voice that says “I care” just by it’s tone.  The kind deed.  The philanthropists gifts that touch our communities.

The passion found in people’s eyes.

The warmth of the breeze blowing by.

Moments that make you stop, and sigh.

The times we have to say goodbye.

The beauty of tears when we cry

The immeasurable dynamics between…. you and I.

  4. The Business of You: “Focusing The Lens” (part 7)

With our camera as our constant companion, we are always prepared to capture images of the world around us. The world is ours to document.   We point the camera directly towards anything that catches our eye.   What would we look like if we turned the lens, focusing  it on ourselves?  What kind of study do we make?

All of our potential lives with us, regardless of whether we make use of it or not.  In “Connect The Dots”, we began creating associations between our interests, skills and goals.  Making connections.  Finding pieces that fit together. Creating change in our lives by turning dreams into workable goals.  The thought process continued flowing…

We must now focus in on these associations.  Where do they fit into our lives?  How do they relate to our future?  Why are they important?

Just like we point our cameras, adjusting the lens, we look outward.  We are seeking information.  Look at industries where our special gifts may be applied.   Follow people who have been successful in their respective fields.  Search for opportunities to apprentice under someone who can be a guide and mentor.  Maybe we can begin building a freelance business on the side.

    Following… Studying… Planning…taking action.

By focusing all of our raw potential we begin to see a clearer picture. Information from studying will applied to our personal resource center.  Our resource center will hold all of the knowledge we gain regarding our future. We now have some directions to follow.  We are narrowing the field….

    We take action…step by step!

Our future will get clearer and clearer as we continue…

    Focusing the lens!!!

  5. Alphabet Soup: U is for Unique

Although we live in a world where everything tends to have a label in attempt to group us together based on commonalities, we are each quite different from one another.  There is only one of each of us.  We are unique from each other in so many ways.  The way we see the world.  The perspectives and beliefs that we have about almost everything.  We look distinct, with each of us having slightly different physical features and our own energy and spirit.

    We all stand alone!

So much time and focus seems to be spent on steering the masses into one homogenized bunch.  We have been taught what a real man is and that girls like pink.   Differences in thoughts, ideas, beliefs, ways of life, and diversity almost feel like something we are supposed to use to judge others. Everything fits into neat little boxes.   The world is complex and varied.  We speak many languages.  We celebrate God through diverse spiritual practices and religious organizations.  Our modern world has evolved from many many cultures that date back to the earliest days of mankind.

The world deserves to imprinted, and thus changed, by each of our unique gifts.  Share your uniqueness with the world through your contributions.  Undertake work that allows you to reach your potential.  Offer your unique perspectives to your local community.  Raise a family, or find one,  that celebrates diversity.  Question policies and practices that limit our liberties of expression.

Learn from how others see the world.  Embrace their perspectives.  Understand that no one really “fits in.”  Our commonality is that we are all unique.

    Respect differences, leaving judgments aside.

    Express your unique self!

You are one of a kind!!  Not like any other!

    The one and only!!

    YOU!!!

  7. Alphabet Soup: I is for Inspire

Everyday I am motivated and encouraged by so many people.  Some are extremely humble, having no idea that their simple paths have leave great impressions on me. The small acts of kindness.  Our families and friends!  Others are living large, speaking to us publicly through their inspirational work.  The great speakers.  The philanthropists.   Beautiful dancers.  The inspiring singers and musicians.    Stimulating movies.  Books that move us!

We all experience this silent ripple effect!  How far out our waves of inspiration go can be infinite and boundless.  One small deed may have a  huge and lasting influence on people we don’t know and may never meet.

If our lives, and businesses,  are going to fill some want or need  people have, we too,  must be inspired.  We need an inspiration diet!

Welcome the people who are passionate into your life. Seek the people who inspire you.  Reach out to them!  Make yourself available for greatness to happen.  Choose carefully the players in your life!  Recognize what inspires you!!

Employees should be those carefully chosen people who want to come play with us. Once again, no business rules here.  If they are excited, motivated, talented team players, who can check their egos at the door….I am there!  Great minds willing to share great ideas for the betterment of everyone.  The company.  The customers.  And for the opportunity to spread their  wings in a nurturing and encouraging environment!

I have what I call my inspiration quilt.  It is composed of  the many  pieces of all the people who have touched my life  in any lasting way, big or small. We are a composition of our  life experiences.   Our intelligence is gained from the wisdom and the knowledge others  have shared with us.

Seek out the writers, the speakers, the singers, the artists, and the  leaders who fill your mind and spirit.  Notice the small acts of kindness that happen in our lives.  Fill your time with people that love you and nourish you.  Love the people in your life. Tell them.  Show them. Honor them.

Share your greatest potential with others through a great business.  A business that fully expresses your life story.  Encourage the people in your life to find what they love.  And motivate them to go for it!

    You are the inspiration!
